David Carmichael’s primary emphasis has been in the area of business and commercial law. He does business formations and provides advice on business issues. He prosecutes and defends clients involved in business and commercial litigation including in the area of intellectual property. He also provides services in area of estate planning for his clients. David Carmichael has litigated in nearly every area of the law such as serious personal injury and wrongful death cases, competing claims of persons with interests in large estates, claims arising under the 1933 Securities Act or the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, product liability cases, construction defect cases and serious criminal cases in which he was the court appointed defense counsel for indigent persons.
If there was an appeal taken, Mr. Carmichael almost always handled the appeal. He was occasionally hired by others to prosecute or defend their cases on appeal even though he had not been the trial counsel.
