Business and Civic Activities and Experiences

David Carmichael has been active in community projects and business pursuits while he engaged in the practice of law. Early in his career, he was one of founding members of HELP LINE, INC., a suicide prevention organization. His activities in civic endeavors included being a member of the FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES COMMISSION for the State of Wyoming; serving for approximately 18 years as one of three members of the POLICE COMMISSION for the City of Cheyenne; serving for two years on the NATIONAL PARKS ADVISORY COUNCIL for the Rocky Mount Region; and serving for three years on the GENERAL COMMITTEE FOR THE CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS (CFD). One of his years at CFD was spent as the Chairman of the Public Relations Committee. The last two years of his service was devoted to running the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo as the Chairman of the Contestant’s Committee. For a period of seven years, David Carmichael served as an officer and member of the Executive Committee of the Wyoming state political party of which he was a member. He was quite active in the campaigns of many of the candidates and was campaign chairman for several persons who were seeking state wide and national elected offices.


Mr. Carmichael’s business pursuits have been devoted to several activities. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF LOVELL for three years, the Board of Directors of the WYOMING NATIONAL BANCORP for three years, and the Board of Directors of the WYOMING NATIONAL BANK OF CHEYENNE for a period of three years. From 1989 to mid 1994, Mr. Carmichael served an officer and attorney for COMMUNICATIONS GROUP INT’L, a company which was doing business in Europe.
